About
“En stoemelings” is Brussels dialect for “on the quiet”. En stoems does the opposite: it brings Belgian public decisions out into the open, with the rules, the figures, who voted for what, and the source of every piece of information.

Our method
- Describe, don't judge. We write down what was decided, voted or observed, by whom, and from which source. No value-laden adjectives, no attributed intentions.
- No unproven accusations. We do not describe anyone as having done something no authority holds against them, not even with “alleged”.
- Equal treatment for all, whatever the party.
- Each side's arguments when a measure is disputed.
- Always cite the source, the official one when it exists.
- Say what we don't know. An uncertain point is marked “to be checked” or “to be confirmed”.
- Presumption of innocence, stated whenever someone is named in legal proceedings.
- Human review: no page is published without being read and approved by a person.
Corrections
A mistake, an outdated figure, a missing source? Let us know, with the page concerned and, if possible, a source. We correct quickly, and every correction is dated on the page.
The English version is a translation of the French one; if in doubt, the French text prevails.
Privacy
- No cookies, no audience tracking, no advertising.
- The interactive tools (“true or false”, the Belgian lasagne) run entirely on your device: your answers are neither sent nor stored.
- The fonts are hosted on this site: your browser does not call any third-party service to display the pages.
- Our host, Netlify, keeps technical logs (IP address, page requested, date) to run and protect the service. We add nothing to them and do not use them to track you.
- Links to other sites (sources, official services) take you away from En stoems: their own rules apply.
